The Walking Dead Season 7 Offical Power Rankings

The Walking Dead Season 7 Offical Power Rankings

Ahhhh, You can smell the decaying flesh in the air!

It’s that time of year, ladies and gentlemen.

Everyone’s favorite show, The Walking Dead, is back!

Yes, the very same Walking Dead in which I, Smitty The Brawler, swore that I’d never watch again earlier this year.

Well, cooler heads have indeed prevailed.

My spot on the couch Sunday night is reserved.

I’m ready, as are you.

Thus, I am here power rank our cast of protagonists going into the season.

Let’s see who’s the current best character on the show as of today.

10. Jesus

Jesus is the newcomer of the bunch. That’s the only reason he’s this low. With his ninja-esque skills, he’s destined to be most people’s favorite character by season’s end. He’s likely to be very integral to the upcoming season and will probably climb the ranks of the actual hierarchy of Rick’s group.

9. Glenn

Next up is my selection┬áto get his skull bashed in by Negan on Sunday night, Glenn. Yes, they pulled a cheap fake death with him last season which would lessen the impact. Yes, they could take the easy rout and kill off a second or third tier protagonist. Yes, they could simply go against what happens in the comic for shock value. Yet I’m convinced that Glenn will that the proverbial ‘L’. Glenn’s craftiness, and selflessness endears him to TWD fans. I find him a little too compassionate and soft at times. Will Sunday be the last that we see of him?

8. Maggie

Ole Mags is gonna be devastated if my above prediction is true. While she comes off a little ‘meh’ to me for the most part, I understand her importance to the crew. She’s evolved from a sweet, innocent, southern belle, into a ferocious lioness. The last remaining member of the Green family does posses leadership qualities, which I’m sure will come into play in the near future.

7. Abraham

Abraham is the Dusty Rhodes of the crew. Fly talking dude, he is. Also pretty bad ass and he gets down with the swirl! He is also my next most likely character to not make it out of the season premiere. If the show runners decide to take the cheap, easy way out, he’s toast.

6. Carl

Carl has come a long way from a whiny little brat. He is now one of, if not the single most adapted character the ways of the world. He is destined to be a leader at some point in the future. Though he is still a douche nozzle, he’s a hardened vet who has been shot more times than 50 Cent.

5. Rick

The Alpha and Omega of the crew. The main protagonist who isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Rick has the leading ability of a cult leader. He borders on the thin line between leader and tyrant. He gets things done. His moral conflicting over the years is what knocked him down a few pegs on this list. And for once, he is absolutely powerless as we head into the beginning of season 7. How he responds to the impending tragedy this season will be one of the main focus points of this season.

4. Morgan

Morgan and his peaceful, heal the world, hobknobbery has pissed plenty of people off. I feel it was a necessary part of his overall journey, and will prove to make him more integral character going forward. He is very level headed, and may have found the perfect balance between being a beast and a rational man. Morgan is the Man!

3. Daryl

If Daryl dies, we riot. Right? That’s because Daryl is pretty much the most universally beloved character in the series. Hes the cool, survivalist, redneck that we all strive to be. His loyalty to his squad is unbridled. Not to mention the sales numbers of crossbows has sky rocketed due to this man. The only question I have for our main man Daryl is which comes first. Him dying, or him coming out of the post apocalyptic closet?

2. Carol

Take a look at that sweet sweater. Anyone who can murder someone in cold blood, while simultaneously baking Iverson Mall snickerdoodles is cool with me. No character has evolved to the extent that Carol has. She went from meek, battered, housewife, to ultimate ass saver. Though she’s undergoing some internal conflict currently, we understand why, as she’s had to do some cold-blooded things for the sake of her and the crew’s safety.

Walkers and Michonne (Danai Gurira) - The Walking Dead _ Season 4, Episode 9 - Photo Credit: Gene Page/AMC

1. Michonne

Is there a better portrayed black woman on Television? She isn’t A bad ass, she’s THE bad ass. Undoubtedly the most mentally strong character in the land of The Walking Dead. She navigates between being Mom, and cold blood ninja assassin in a finger snap. Touch them other hitters cuz she’s down for her hitters. Michonne is the fairest of them all in The Walking Dead!
